My research is broadly focused on the ecology and evolution of marine organisms. I am interested in understanding the ecological and evolutionary processes that drive biodiversity patterns in a rapidly changing environment at the genomic, population, and species-level. Evolutionary processes such as adaptation and speciation—the process by which new species arise—depend on the population's genetic makeup. As climate change continues to accelerate, species' persistence will depend on their populations’ ability to adapt quickly to new demographic and environmental conditions. Recently, I obtained an NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship to test the evolutionary theory of the accumulation of deleterious mutations in a rapid climate-driven range expansion and harvested marine fish, Black Sea Bass (Centropristis striata).

I am interested in the evolutionary forces driving biodiversity in our oceans and how we classify and protect this diversity. In my graduate studies, I hope to use genomics tools to explore modes of speciation and hybridization in Holacanthus angelfishes. In my free time, I love to cook and bike around Boston.

I am broadly interested in using molecular tools to investigate the impacts of climate change on species important to coastal communities, such as those commercially / recreationally fished. I hope to utilize a multidisciplinary research approach to support marine management projects and policymaking. In my free time, I enjoy reading, going to concerts, and traveling. It's hard to choose a favorite marine animal, but I consider myself to be an oyster and horseshoe crab enthusiast.

I am currently pursuing a master's degree in marine biology with Northeastern University's Three Seas Program. Fish and marine invertebrates are huge interests of mine and I hope to study how species and their distribitions are changing with climate change.
Candidate for a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology with a minor in Data Science
I’m a fourth year at Northeastern. The biodiversity of the natural world fascinates me, so I am working to do my part to learn more about it and preserve it.
