My research is broadly focused on the ecology and evolution of marine organisms. I am interested in understanding the ecological and evolutionary processes that drive biodiversity patterns in a rapidly changing environment at the genomic, population, and species-level. Evolutionary processes such as adaptation and speciation—the process by which new species arise—depend on the population's genetic makeup. As climate change continues to accelerate, species' persistence will depend on their populations’ ability to adapt quickly to new demographic and environmental conditions. Recently, I obtained an NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship to test the evolutionary theory of the accumulation of deleterious mutations in a rapid climate-driven range expansion and harvested marine fish, Black Sea Bass (Centropristis striata).

I am interested in the forces driving biodiversity in our oceans and how we classify and protect this diversity. In my graduate studies, I hope to use genomics tools to explore the evolutionary processes governing marine species distributions under global change. My research interests largely stem from the work I contributed to as the Research Technician in the Davies Lab at Boston University - a group dedicated to assessing and predicting coral responses to climate change. In my free time, I love to cook and bike around Boston.
Candidate for a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology with a minor in Data Science
I’m a fourth year at Northeastern. The biodiversity of the natural world fascinates me, so I am working to do my part to learn more about it and preserve it.
